Early Christmas

So one of the places I've always wanted to visit is New York, not only that but I've always dreamed of going during Christmas. My husband surprised me a couple weeks ago and told me we are going to New York this Christmas, I am so excited. This will be our first big trip we have done. We also purchased a new video recorder, called The Flip. Oprah mentioned this on her show she had about Youtube. This recorder is very easy to use and we bought it during the thanksgiving sales. I can't wait to record backstage fashion shows and any work I do so I can post them for your viewing pleasure. Nora

Fashion Show/ OC magazine Shoot 11.20.07

I recently did a Fashion show and a magazine shoot, (Thank you Jeannie) at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna. I had a great time and the view from the hotel is breathtaking. The fashion show was awesome and once again the clothes were fabulous, so the show was in the early afternoon then I headed upstairs and worked with Jeannie on the January issue of OC magazine. The issue is focusing on fitness and we shot in the hotel's gym. This gym is awesome, they have tv's on the treadmills and the view is amazing, I would workout everyday if this was my gym. Miss LA Galaxy 2008

So I am posting 2 blogs in one day. I needed to catch up. I still have many pictures and days to post so this will help me. This year is my 3rd year doing makeup for the Miss LA galaxy contest. Each year 10 beautiful ladies are chosen and only one is crowned. The winner was chosen based on her poise, confidence, public speaking abilities and academic success. The winner was chosen on Oct. 13th and the winner Julie Bornemann was crowned. Below are pictures of the final 4 in the court and the winner Julie. Congrats Julie. Nora

The beautiful Sunisa Kim

I had the pleasure of working with two great people on Oct. 14th model Sunisa and photographer Brandon(brandonsavoy.com). We meet at Brandon's studio in LA and had a great time. Sunisa is such a funny and real person, she is so beautiful and one of the nicest models I've ever worked with. It was really hard to finally choose which shoots I would post for my blog and website since Sunisa takes great photos and every single one was good. It's been a busy month

Hello everyone , Sorry I have been MIA for a while. I have been very busy and having fun since my last blog. I have had many weddings and had the pleasure of working and meeting great photographers and models. I have posted some pictures from a couple events I worked on .The first couple pictures are from the wonderful Marla Maples and her daughter Tiffany Trump. They are such nice people, Doing their makeup was truly a highlight of my career so far. I also was invited to a Indian wedding expo and worked on beautiful models, my last picture is one of my favorites, the beautiful Amna and Sunisa. 1. I love love love Hello Kitty. This is an obsession since I was a little girl. My bedroom and bathroom was all Hello Kitty and since the early 90's I have been a big fan of http://www.tarinatarantino.com/ jewelry she is the only designer allowed to use Hello Kitty in her collection. My dream is to one day have it all. ;)
2. I love ladybugs, to me they represent my mom. If I ever have a daughter her room will be decorated in ladybugs and hello kitty. I also have a ladybug tattoo on my foot.
3. I love the 80's I am a big fan of breakfast club and sixteen candles, the cure and depeche mode.

5. I can talk on the phone for hours. The one person I can really only do this with is my mom . We talk 2-4 times a day sometimes for 5 mins or an hour, sometimes we don't have anything to say we just like calling each other. :)

Anniversary

The hubby and I celebrated our 3 yr wedding anniversary at the happiest place on earth. Disneyland!!!! We had a great time dining at Club 33, (which is a member only restaurant and hidden between shops, they are very secretive at 33), sailing to Tom Sawyers Island, and riding our favorite rides. Might I add that Finding Nemo submarine ride, and Hollywood Tower of Terror are both fantastic.Thank you babe for a great day. Here are a few pictures of our day. Nora

Hair cut

So I had my hair cut today. I have been wanting to cut my hair for a while now. I really liked Nicole Richie's hair cut and decided to get it cut. Thanks to ED from Syndicate in Long Beach, he did a great job.

The meaning of Puresemblance

So I have been asked many times "what does Puresemblance stand for and how did you come up with that name??" So after thinking about a name for my website and asking for everyone's opinion,it finally came down to one of my brothers friends who searched online and came up with Puresemblance. After researching and sleeping on it, I grew attached to the name and felt it was original. From www.dictionary.com

Pure: independent of sense or experience(pure knowledge)
clean, spotless, or unsullied(pure hands)
clear; free from blemishes(pure skin)

Semblance: outward aspect or appearance
an assumed or unreal appearance or trace
a likeness image or copy
something remarkable,stunning

Back from Vacation

I'm back!!!! Our family went on a much needed vacation to Lake Tahoe. Wedding/Fashion Show

OK, First day blogging, 2 blogs!!! I'm on a roll. Well yesterday was a very busy but fun day for me. I had a wedding in the a.m., then a fashion show in Hollywood for Marcus Allen (hall a fame player for Raiders and USC). All of us artist that worked the show had a great time, 3 makeup artist and 3 hair artist, 18 models = crazy fun. Thank you to Jeannie from Team Couture for giving all of us artist the opportunity to work with and meet such great people.
